Ring type joints

Ring Type Joints are widely used by the Oil, Gas, Petrochemical and Offshore Industries in applications subject to high pressures. These joints are designed to concentrate the bolt load over a small area thus producing high seating stresses. As the ring type material should always be softer than the mating flanges, the high seating stress causes ‘plastic-flow’ of the ring joint at the flange faces creating the seal.
We hold stocks of soft iron and stainless steel, oval and octagonal. Other exotic material can be manufactured to meet specific customer requirements.
